Basic Open Chords
The diagrams below show you how to play the basic open chords in their standard full versions along with a few chords that will help you get started with barre chords. These chord shapes are used in a lot of songs and is a great starter pack of chords to learn.
If you’re a beginner, go through these chords one by one in the order that they're listed. A good way to practice these chords before putting them into songs is to first practice switching between any two chords you’re comfortable with strumming one time each, then try playing each chord four times before switching to the next. Try this with different chord combinations and speeds!
